Meet Chef Jen
As a young girl, Jennifer enjoyed helping her mom create delicious meals in their home kitchen. The most important lesson she learned is that cooking is more than just food. It truly is the art of connecting people. In junior high, she started her own bread baking business called Basic Knead. She provided fresh, whole wheat bread for her clients on a weekly basis. Her passion for food continued as she grew older. However, instead of pursuing the dream of becoming a chef, she chose to attend college at Texas A&M University, There she received a Bachelor’s degree in Education. (Fighting Texas Aggie Class of '94 - WHOOP!) Teacher by trade (15 years in Middle School Science) yet always pursuing that culinary dream. When she retired from teaching in 2006, she was newly married to her AMAZING husband Todd, and looking to start a family. He encouraged her to finally pursue that dream of cooking. Knowing that restaurant life was not for her and the need for flexibility was important, she discovered the field of "personal cheffing." With that, Dashing Dinners Personal Chef Service began in 2006. She went back to school at the El Centro School of Culinary Arts in Dallas, TX, and got her personal chef certification through the Culinary Business Academy and the United States Personal Chef Association. For 12 years, she had the privilege of serving families from all over the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex by helping them bring family dinner time back to the table, catering private dinners and celebrations. In the Summer of 2017, she relocated to NW Iowa with her family and has loved serving the Siouxland area for the 6 years. The Summer of 2023 God decided to move them again. Chef Jen moved with her family to Northwest Arkansas and looks forward to serving families in that community for years to come. Jen makes every effort to ensure that all of her customers are well served and every event is a memorable one.
